Intro to Pilates

Welcome to our Intro class at The Pilates Lab, designed as a prerequisite for new and inexperienced clients. In this 60-minute session, our skilled instructors will guide you through the foundational principles of Pilates, focusing on proper breathing techniques, core activation, alignment, and mind-to-muscle connection. You’ll learn how to adjust our equipment to your personal settings, ensuring comfort and familiarity. We’ll then introduce you to basic exercises, allowing you to apply what you’ve learned ( you will be moving 80% of the time). By the end of this comprehensive session, you’ll feel confident and ready to join our regular classes, equipped with a solid foundation in Pilates techniques and an understanding of how to maximise your potential with our equipment. 

Reformer Pilates

A challenging workout that targets all muscle groups, leaving you feeling strong, empowered, and deeply connected to your body. Experience the power of working against spring resistance as you sculpt and tone your muscles, enhancing both your physical appearance and inner confidence. With each movement, you will improve your posture, flexibility, and overall mind-body connection, creating a harmonious balance within yourself. Our expertly crafted exercises focus on developing core strength while allowing your spine and body to move through a full range of functional motion, ensuring you feel agile and capable in your everyday life.

Matwork Pilates

Take it down where it all began with a Pilates session done on the mat.  Immerse yourself in the seamless flow of exercises, gracefully transitioning from one movement to another, as you engage and invigorate your entire body. Don’t be fooled by the absence of equipment – this is where the true magic happens! With no external aids, you will rely solely on the power and poise of your own body, resulting in a truly transformative experience. Yoga: Vinyasa Flow

Vinyasa flow is all about fluidity geared to open and strengthen the entire body.  You will increase your flexibility and put your mind at ease while you follow your breath through flowing sequences.  You will be sure to leave this class feeling strong, mobile and energized.  All levels welcome.

The Pilates Circuit

The Pilates Circuit is a dynamic fitness class that combines four different exercise modalities – Mat Pilates, TRX, Chair, and Barre to deliver a comprehensive and challenging workout.

This class is designed to improve your strength, flexibility, balance, and core stability by engaging multiple muscle groups simultaneously. Each station of the circuit utilizes a different piece of equipment, allowing for a varied and engaging workout that targets different areas of the body. In this class, you will move through the different stations, performing a series of exercises that incorporate each piece of equipment, with an emphasis on proper form, technique and progressions. The Pilates Circuit suitable for all fitness levels.

Barre is the perfect blend of standing work at the ballet barre and floor exercises. We constantly update our music and choreography, ensuring each class is a fresh and thrilling experience. Private Pilates

Pregnancy Reformer

Pregnancy Reformer classes are specifically tailored for the unique needs of expectant mothers. As your body goes through changes, Pregnancy Reformer will help you maintain strength, stability, and flexibility while promoting overall well-being. The gentle and controlled movements enhance core strength, improve posture, and alleviate common pregnancy discomforts such as back pain and tight muscles. Additionally, it aids in pelvic floor activation and awareness, preparing you for labor and postpartum recovery. By engaging in this nurturing and safe practice, you’ll not only feel physically stronger but also experience a sense of connection and empowerment as you nurture both yourself and your growing baby.

Mums & Bubs Pilates

Mums & Bubs Reformer Pilates classes offer an excellent opportunity for new moms to rejuvenate their bodies while addressing your postpartum needs. These classes focus on restoring muscle memory in the core as well as strengthening and mobilising the entire body. After natural childbirth, the abdominal and pelvic floor muscles tend to become stretched and weakened. Additionally, the physical strain of breastfeeding and carrying the baby can result in tightness and stress. This class will cater to your specific changes and help you regain strength and flexibility. You have the option to attend alone or bring your baby along, allowing them to relax nearby while you engage in your workout.

Note : These classes are for clients with bubs that are not yet highly mobile. Prams and rugs are welcome.
