Dani Bigwood
Pilates Instructor
I fell in love with Pilates at the age of 16, when I had to give up competitive Irish Dancing for 6 months due to school exams. I fell in love with the movement of the body. The stability, mobility, strength and flexibility in all aspects. And to have a supple body you need to have all aspects. 3 years later at the age of 19, a pilates mentor encouraged me to do my instructor training course. And I have been teaching now since 2010.
I love the movement of the body. The stability, mobility, strength and flexibility in all aspects. And to have a supple but strong body you need to have all aspects.
I wanted to share my passion for movement.
I would describe my class as deliciously challenging. When I am moving I love doing those basic exercises that just feel so good and juciy to the body, like youre ironing out the creases. But I also like feeling pleasantly worked. I would say thats how I like to teach. To make you feel better then you come in, but still having been challenged and maybe a little sore the next day.
I love teaching at the lab because of the clients. The clients like to have fun, like a challange, and bring energy to the class. The studio is also divine as it is bright and spacious, and there is so much variety in the classes to teach.
Since 2010
I prefer a combination of both. I love technical classes to really think about the exercise and how your body is moving that day. But I also love finding that burn and that endurance.
I am a birthing Doula (Little Pixie Birthing) and I can play the tin whistle! 🙂
