Find movement you'll actually look forward to.
Get stronger without wrecking yourself. Move better in everyday life. And find a routine you’ll still be doing in a year because it’s the one you enjoy, not the one you’re forcing.
Strength that shows up outside the studio. Carrying the shopping in one trip. Getting off the floor without the noise. Keeping up on the beach walk.
That’s what consistency does — and consistency is easier when you actually like being here.
Have a look inside the studio before you come in.

FAQs
Interested in getting started? We answer your most frequently asked questions below.
Pilates is a method of movement built around control, breath and precision rather than speed or heavy weight. You’ll work your whole body, but the focus is on your core, your posture and how well you move.
Done regularly, it builds strength, flexibility, mobility and body awareness — and it tends to sort out the aches that come from sitting at a desk or carrying kids around all day. It’s low impact, which means it’s kind to your joints, but don’t mistake that for easy.
At the Lab you’ll do it on a reformer, on a mat, at the barre, or in our Circuit and Yoga classes. Every class is coached.
Start with Intro to Pilates — it’s included in your 4-Week Reset. This class is for all new clients and all levels.
The Intro class gives us the chance to introduce you to the studio without rushing. We’ll take the time to learn a bit about you and how we can support you while you’re with us. We’ll show you our equipment, set up your personal reformer settings, and lead you through a workout on the reformer at a slower pace so we can focus on technique and form. You’ll have plenty of chances to ask questions.
After that, try a few different class types and see what suits you.
Yes — and there’s a good reason for it.
Every studio runs different equipment, different settings and different policies. The Intro class means you’re not spending your first proper class working out where things are or how our reformers differ from the last studio’s. You’ll get your personal settings sorted, meet one of our instructors properly, and ask anything you want.
Experienced clients usually tell us it was worth it.
Consistency is key.
Two to three times a week is ideal, and that’s what most of our members settle into. But once a week done regularly beats three times a week done for a fortnight and then abandoned.
Start with what you can actually keep up.
Yes. You’re welcome in our regular Reformer classes throughout your pregnancy.
When you sign up, let our admin team know and we’ll add a pregnancy tag to your account. That notifies our team ahead of every class you book, so your instructor knows before you walk in and has modifications ready for you.
Have a chat with your doctor or midwife first, and let us know if anything changes along the way.
Sooner than you’d think — but probably not in the way you’re expecting.
Most people notice how they feel long before they see anything in the mirror. Better posture. Less niggle in the lower back. Getting off the floor without the noise. Sleeping better. That usually shows up within a few weeks.
Visible changes take longer and depend on plenty of things outside the studio. What we can tell you is that the people who see the biggest difference aren’t the ones who train hardest — they’re the ones who keep turning up.
The Pilates Lab has 6 car bays in front of the studio along Calais Rd. There is also a small parking lot at the end of our building closest to Brighton rd that is available for parking. If these car bays are in use you may park on the street where it says parking is permitted. Parking is not permitted on any verge at anytime.
Something comfortable you can move in. Leggings, bike shorts, a t-shirt or singlet — whatever you’d usually wear to exercise. Fitted rather than baggy works best, so nothing’s getting in your way mid-class.
No shoes — we ask everyone to wear grip socks for safety and hygiene. If you don’t have a pair, they’re included free with your 4-Week Reset, and we sell them in the studio.
Yes — classes fill up, especially the popular times, so book ahead to make sure you get the spot you want.
If a class is already full, add yourself to the waitlist. They move faster than you’d expect and we’ll let you know if a spot opens up.
Not a problem. Cancel up to 5 hours before your class or private session and the credit goes straight back to your account. After that, the class is used.
To cancel: Log into the app or your Momence account, go to your schedule and hit cancel next to the class. If it won’t play ball, email or call the studio and we’ll sort it.
When there is a cancellation and you are on the waiting list the system will automatically add you into the session up to 1 hrs before the class is set to commence. You will be alerted by email or text. We recommend if you are on the waiting list to make sure you check your emails and text messages to confirm your space. If you would like to remove yourself from the waiting list log on to your Momence account go to your waitlisted classes and cancel your session.
